What is Ketoconazole?

■ Generic Ketoconazole, is a broad spectrum synthetic antifungal agent, usually available in a tablet form for oral administration. Each tablet contains 200 mg ketoconazole base intended for oral administration. The inactive ingredients of the drug include corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and povidone. The drug is chemically denoted as cis-1-acetyl-4-[4-[[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-(1H-imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl]methoxyl]phenyl] piperazine.
